Demotivators are different from motivators

Demotivators are factors that discourage people from positive action. These stop or slow people down from achieving their goals. For example, a bad keyboard tray is a constant reminder of discomfort and will impact what people do on a daily basis. While adding a really comfortable keyboard tray will not create any extra motivation. Just like motivating factors vary with each individual, demotivating factors also vary from person to person.
